Do You Digg Best Buy?

Recently I was doing a little research on the Flip video cameras and when I was on Best Buy’s site, I noticed a few new features. Under the customer reviews I was able to share a product by adding to Facebook, Digg or  del.icio.us. In my opinion, I think this is a great effort on Best Buy’s part to use social media and help others be the spokeperson for their products. At least they are making the tools available to their consumers…which from what I’ve seen, is a step ahead of their major competitors.

So all that’s good & well, but I do have a problem with the Digg piece of these new additions. I felt Facebook and Del.icio.us were a good fit, but Digg didn’t feel like the best platform to share retail products? If I saw an entry on a product submitted to Digg, the chances of me actually digging it are very slim. It would have to be a pretty good deal, so maybe that is their justification? Use it only for really good deals? Or maybe they see it as their consumers are promoting their products to other consumers, but it just didn’t sit well with me. Do you guys feel otherwise?

Bottom line I applaud BB for their efforts and just making an attempt to join in the social media playground.
